Ashwagandha, the king of herbs

Ashwagandha…the king of the Ayurvedic herbal world, the earth stallion…it’s the first adaptogenic herb that I was introduced to in my Ayurvedic studies and it’s an herb that has supported me for years now. This king is the main herb in my Nectar Blend formula. I enjoy it each studious morning in that special @longsummer.ceramics mug in my backyard Internet cafe.

It is also called “Indian ginseng” and its name “Ashwagandha” literally translates to “the smell the horse” relating to its ability to instill strength into those who develop a relationship with it. Ironically, it actually smells quite nice, yet then again I am a horse in Chinese astrology.
This king is known to energize and calm us at the same time. It is known to balance the vata dosha which, for all of us, have a tendency to go out-of-balance during the upcoming fall and winter seasons.

Contraindications are excessive usage while pregnant, those with an excess of pitta or Ama (toxins) or those who have an aversion to nightshades.

I source my Ashwagandha from two companies that grow the herb in ideal environments and work very closely with the farmers to ensure proper cleanliness guidelines are followed.

See below for this king’s additional health benefits and stay tuned to learn about Ashwgandha’s partner herb….the queen of Ayurvedic herbs, who is also very present in my Nectar Blend formula.
