Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha, the king of the Ayurvedic herbal world, the earth stallion. It’s the first adaptogenic herb that I was introduced to in my Ayurvedic studies and an herb that has supported me for years now.
It is also called “Indian ginseng” and its name “Ashwagandha” literally translates to “the smell the horse”, relating to its ability to instill strength into those who develop a relationship with it. Ironically, it actually smells quite nice.
This king is known to energize and calm us at the same time. It is known to balance the vata dosha which, for all of us, have a tendency to go out-of-balance during the fall and winter seasons. You can find ashwagandha in my Nectar Blend, Ayurvedic Matcha, and Ayurvedic Coffee.
Contraindications are excessive usage while pregnant, those with an excess of pitta or Ama (toxins) or those who have an aversion to nightshades.
